Description

Currently we show a data table in each reference space if data are found associated with this space. Example here. This table currently shows the following columns:

  • ID
  • Source
  • Material
  • Quantity
  • To
  • Segment

From all that I can see, this set of features was chosen haphazardly, based on needs "in the moment" and an initial judgment call when setting up the first version of this page. However, for most datasets the TO and SEGMENT will likely be empty; the SOURCE will be the same value all over, and ID is not something anyone is interested in. So there is lots of room for improvement. Let's think about this a bit and see how to improve it.

Note that we also show a table in the dataset itself, which has a different format. Example here. There should definitely be some consistency between the format of these tables - or at least some thought behind them both.

Discussion and updates

An upgrade has been made here, as this datatable has now been replaced by a chart that includes a data visualization as a primary object, and a data table as a secondary tab. So there is still a data table, but this is now fully consistent with the library item. It should still be restructured, but we are one step closer to consistency...

Nice that you upgraded this Paul! We were asked by 1-2 people about this for the SCA reports, and now these look nicer too with their embedded visualisations. Looking forward to having the cities use custom viz in those too!
