Description
The community hub has quite some information, and should be expected to be a key pillar in our site. Over the coming days I (Paul) will be working on making the various sections look good. However, what I'm not good with is figuring out how to set up the homepage. Key questions to answer:
- What exactly should the homepage do (show the latest updates? give a general idea what is in the entire section? encourage people to join? all of the above?)
- Once we figure that out, what content should we show here exactly? We can easily pull in stuff from the different databases (e.g. the Organizations, News, or Events), but I'd need to know how many, and how to show them (photo or not, short text intro or not, date or not), and where
- What general layout do we use? Big photo header? (if so, what photo?) Do we use multiple columns? If so, how many? Do we use "cards"? Any other design elements?
Guus is available to help with the front-end work to make this looks nice, but it would be great if someone can help figure out how this should be set up. The more detailed you provide instructions, the better. You can make some drawings in any program of your choice (in an image editor, on paper, in a spreadsheet, etc etc). It is also VERY helpful if you have sample sites and screenshots of specific elements you want to use.
